RCF supports community-based organizations within the Greater Boston area that provide gender-specific programming to girls in this age group. As a volunteer board dedicated to strengthening the lives of girls and young women, RCF is committed to funding programs that achieve positive outcomes and supports a variety of program models (e.g., mentoring, peer leadership, youth development) and focus areas (e.g., arts, athletics, dance, science, writing, education, health education). believes that adolescence is a critical time in girls’ and young women’s development—one that is marked by various stages, unique challenges, and differing needs. The emotional, intellectual, physical, spiritual, and academic support girls receive during this time positively influence developmental outcomes. We specialize in supporting programs that address girls’ and young women’s distinct developmental stages, challenges and needs. We are particularly interested in programs that are aligned with the foundation’s values and guiding principles . Since 2008, the Rutland Corner Foundation has made grants totaling more than $1.8M to over sixty Massachusetts nonprofit organizations that demonstrate a strong commitment to girls and young women in their community.
